Role-Based Chat Channels
Every team gets four auto-provisioned chat channels out of the box — Announcements (read-only for parents), Coaches Corner (private staff-only discussion), Team Chat (coaches, parents, and players), and Parents Lounge (parent-to-parent coordination). Each channel has its own icon and purpose, so conversations stay organized and everyone knows exactly where to post. Parents can also opt in to receive chat messages via SMS, so they never miss an important update even if they aren't in the app.
Coaches Corner
A private channel exclusively for coaching staff to discuss strategy, lineup changes, and player updates without parents seeing the conversation. Coaches share game plans, flag injuries, coordinate substitutions, and make tactical decisions — all in a dedicated space that keeps sensitive coaching discussions separate from team-wide communication.
Team Chat
The whole-team channel where coaches, parents, and players connect. Coaches share game-day details like warm-up times and arrival instructions, parents coordinate equipment, and the entire team builds energy before big matchups. Emoji support and file attachments keep the conversation lively and practical.
Parents Lounge
A dedicated space for parents to coordinate among themselves — snack duty sign-ups, team merchandise questions, jersey sizing advice, carpool offers, and everything else that doesn't need coach involvement. Parents help each other directly, building community and reducing the load on coaching staff.
Announcements & Urgent Messages
The read-only Announcements channel is where coaches post critical team updates — picture day details, schedule changes, and evaluation reminders. Pinned messages stay at the top in a collapsible header so nothing important gets buried. Urgent messages display with a bold yellow border and warning icon, and parents who opt in to SMS delivery receive these alerts as text messages — ensuring weather cancellations and last-minute changes reach every family instantly, even if they aren't checking the app.
Coach's Corner Home Widget
Coaches post messages that appear as a featured card on every parent's and player's home screen — perfect for post-game recaps, motivational notes, practice previews, and weekly updates. Each post shows the coach's name and timestamp, and parents see it the moment they open the app without navigating to any chat channel.
